Even though Matt saw himself as the average softball playing dad, he took the leap into obstacle racing because something inside him said so. He had always disliked school and never performed well there, so there was no conventional back up. But Matt deployed his creativity and initiative, googled how to start a business and became a successful entrepreneur of a staffing company.
It wasn’t his passion but he allowed himself time again to be romanced by the big paycheques. When the opportunity arose (and used to there being no safety net), he took the leap into obstacle racing. He had learned as an entrepreneur that every business needs a decent runway. He loves what he does and continues to build his business, which most definitely doesn’t feel like work to him.
